graphic designer born in chile, based in germany. specialized in typography and visual identity, with a focus on cultural work: publishing, books and music.

MOLA is an online platform dedicated to documenting and promoting the visual and material culture of the emancipatory projects of the developmentalist era in Latin America. The graphic identity we developed takes these rich visual elements and enhances them through digital collage techniques inspired by 20th-century methods such as screen printing. The logo was designed in collaboration with the renowned artist Hugo Rivera-Scott and must have been one of the most challenging projects of my career as a typographer. The website, designed in collaboration with Apunte Studio, presents the content of this site through immersive text pages and clear taxonomies. modenismolatinoamericano.org

The main topics were mechanical spacing, rhythm programming, Euclidean rhythms, Frutiger and monospaced typefaces, my typeface CF Memoria (now Crónica), keyboards, and other forms of mechanical writing, a poem about that, Frank E. Blokland’s theory, Expert class type design on Plantin Moretus Institute, and my revival of Kis.
